Jeremy Smart is the editor-in-chief of Design Anthology. Based in Tokyo since 2022, he is also a creative director, brand strategist and editorial consultant, delivering projects for a global roster of clients including Carl Hansen & Søn, Muji, Aesop, Louis Vuitton and Rosewood Hotels, through his role as creative director of Design Anthology’s bespoke services arm.

Previously based in Hong Kong and Melbourne, Smart brings an international perspective and 14 years of experience working at the intersection of media and design, helping brands better tell their story to the culturally-conscious, globally-minded audiences that matter.

Smart is also a commentator on design, travel and urbanism, writing for the likes of Nikkei Asia and The Sydney Morning Herald and appearing on Monocle Radio. He’s produced photojournalism for The Guardian and Al Jazeera and speaks and moderates at conferences, summits and events.
